If your water is like the water in many households, it might have a chlorine-type taste due to the water treatment process. Although you might not notice the taste very much, there's a chance that it's pretty strong to your kids. 2. Add Flavoring
Although plain water is certainly a healthy choice, if you have a hard time getting your kids to drink it, consider adding fresh produce for flavoring. You can try a squeeze of lemon or lime, or you can even slice up strawberries or cucumbers and soak them in a pitcher of water. This will infuse fresh flavoring and will even add some of the nutrients from your favorite produce. Another option is to add mint or another favorite herb. 3. Keep it in Individual Bottles
For some reason, kids are often attracted to personally-sized portions of foods and drinks. To substitute healthy water for sugary juice boxes, fill up water bottles with fresh water, and keep them stashed in the fridge. Then, your little ones can reach in and get their own portion of water any time that they want.
4. Buy Cups That are for Water Use Only
Many kids like having individual cups of their own, such as ones that have cartoon characters on them or that are in their favorite colors. Purchase a special cup for each of your kids, and tell them that the cup can only be used when they drink water. In some cases, your little ones might ask for water just so that they can use their favorite cup.
